Yen-Ling Kuo, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Virginia, has been honored with the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society’s Outstanding Women in Robotics & Automation (WiRA) Early Career Contribution Award. The award was presented last week at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2025.
Kuo received the award for her paper “Diff-DAgger: Uncertainty Estimation with Diffusion Policy for Robotic Manipulation,” co-authored with her students Sung Wook Lee and Xuhui Kang. The research introduces a novel approach to improving robotic manipulation through uncertainty estimation.
ICRA is the world’s premier robotics conference, attracting over 7,000 researchers, industry leaders, and professionals. The 2025 event was held in Atlanta, Georgia this past May.
Congratulations to Professor Kuo and the students!
