Office of Facilities


The Office of Facilities, within UVA Engineering's Office of Operations and Finance, is primarily responsible for recommending allocations of the school's current spaces and for planning strategically for future space needs in support of the research and teaching mission. Under this office's leadership, UVA Engineering is engaged in a long-term strategic plan for facilities.

The facilities director also acts as a liaison for University Facilities Management, which provides vital services including: building construction, repairs and maintenance; locks and keys; landscaping; utilities; environmental compliance; pest control; recycling and sustainability services; signage; custodial services; and certain logistical support services for special events.

The Office of Facilities is responsible for:

  • Strategic Space Planning
  • Managing Existing UVA Engineering Facilities and Space
  • Serving as a liaison with University of Virginia Facilities Management
