UVA Engineering has a material advantage in additive manufacturing. Our faculty members work across disciplines with inudstry and government partners to realize the potential of this disruptive technology. We integrate materails, heat treatments and 3D processing to achieve strength, ductility, and resistance to corrosion as well as fracture. Our novel materials and coatings meet mission-critical needs in defense, aerospace, energy and transportation.
