New Masters and PhD Computer Science Students will attend an informative orientation that will help them become familiar with all of the resources we have to offer here in the Department of Computer Science. This is also a wonderful opportunity for new students to meet other students and faculty.
2019 Computer Science Grad Student Orientation Schedule
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Rice Hall – Davis Commons): Check-in and Continental Breakfast
9:00 AM –11:00 AM (Rice Hall 130): Presentations by the Director of Graduate Studies, Dr. Alf Weaver, the Systems/IT Staff, and the Computer Science Graduate Student Group
11:00 AM – 11:45 AM (Rice Hall 130): Director of the Master’s Program, Dr. Marty Humphrey, will present information specific to master’s student
-Ph.D. Students will be dismissed to meet with their Labs/Advisors if they wish or have a break.
11:45 AM – 12:45 PM (Rice Hall - Davis Commons): Lunch will be provided (Ph.D. Student’s return from labs/advisor meetings/break
12:45 PM: Walk to the SEAS (School of Engineering & Applied Science) Orientation Events
3:00 – 4:00 PM: SEAS Social Event
