About the Speaker: Shuiwang Ji is a professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University in 2010. His research interests include machine learning, deep learning and computational biology/chemistry/physics. Ji earned the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2014. He serves as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data and ACM Computing Surveys. He regularly serves as an area chair or equivalent roles for the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, International Conference on Learning Representations, International Conference on Machine Learning, International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, ACM SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, and Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems. Ji is a Distinguished Member of ACM and a Senior Member of IEEE.
