Get a glimpse into how the next generation of electrical and computer engineering leaders plan to improve our quality of life at the department’s 2021 capstone project poster session. Fifteen teams of fourth-year students will introduce their projects.

AgriFlight: measures agricultural soil data through the use of a drone-mounted probe.
ALTAIR: controls the ambient light in an area by wirelessly adjusting window blinds and room lights.
Connect 4 Robot: a machine that can autonomously play Connect 4, a simple board game, against a human player.
Doggie Launcher: a tennis ball launcher that rotates horizontally to shoot a tennis ball provided by a dog on a user-defined schedule.
L.A.N.G.P.A.D.: a touchscreen computer peripheral that allows for easy typing of special characters used in Latin-based languages.
Pancake Printer: an easy to use home appliance that transforms your photos into tasty pancake art using computer vision and robotics.
Pantastic: a safety device that alerts users when kitchen appliances reach dangerous temperatures.
Smart Fish Tank: a device aimed at automatically balancing the pH of fresh water aquariums to a predetermined pH level.
Smart Pet Feeding Station: a two-in-one device that delivers precise amounts of dry food and water to separate bowls during user specified times.
Smart Shoe In-sole: collects and visualizes pressure data using sensors placed around the foot for use in diagnostics and gait correction.
SpellCheck: an educational device that aims to help elementary school students learn and spell words by prompting the student to spell a given image using physical letter blocks and verifying the input.
The Bouncer: a locking system that prevents package theft and facilitates short-term rentals using multi-level access privileges, an integrated camera, and an interactive web application.
The End of Our FUN [ECE Fundamentals Courses]: a solar powered object detection device to alert cyclists when vehicles are approaching from behind.
Triple Tangents: a machine that can take a picture of a signature and replicate the signature on paper with a combination of server-side image processing along with a robot that takes the processed picture and can replicate it in real-time on paper.
Visual Assistant Hat: an obstruction detecting hat which will provide visually impaired users real-time feedback on their surroundings through tactile and auditory responses.
