Metallurgy, Pennsylvania State University, 1978Over the past 30-years, Dr. Martukanitz has been deeply involved in developing and implementing advanced manufacturing technology, with a specialty in laser and materials processing. He is the co-inventor of the laser stir welding process, which is being applied in many different industries. His technical interests within the field are very broad, with his current emphasis being the impact of additive manufacturing materials and processes on product performance. Early in his career, Dr. Martukanitz spent 10 years at the Alcoa Technical Center and was actively involved in process and product characterization for new aluminum alloys.
