Graduate Research Assistantship Available for Fall 2021

Graduate research assistantship is available for the coming Fall semester in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Virginia as follows:

(1) A Research Assistantship (RA) position is available from the coming Spring semester to carry out Ph.D. degree research at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, in the area of laser applications, photonics, and sensors. The RA stipend is $24k per year, plus full tuition and health coverage along with some funds for research conference travel. As part of the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA), which is a consortium of six major universities (UVa, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Univ. of Maryland and N.C. State A & T). The student will be able to take all the courses at the NIA classroom site located near the NASA Langley Research Center. Also, up to 50% of the courses can be taken from any of these six universities and counted towards the UVa degree program. This is a unique opportunity for a student to be able to work and learn with leading NASA scientists and using their state of the art research facilities for completion of Ph.D. degree. A student must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident in order to be able to work at NASA Langley Research Center. The student must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics or electrical engineering. The student must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics or electrical engineering.
