How to Access Career Support and Resources
Dear UVA Engineering Graduate Students,
I am writing on behalf of all of us at the Center for Engineering Career Development; you have been in our thoughts over the past week and a half. I am sure you have many questions about what the next few months will hold, and I want to reassure you that our team is prepared to continue supporting you in your career development through the rest of this semester and beyond.
In the sections below, you’ll find information on how to schedule career advising appointments and how to access our online career resources. As our efforts expand and evolve in the coming weeks, we will be sure to communicate updates via our weekly newsletter and on our website.
You can find updated guidance on timely career-related topics on the UVA Career Center’s COVID-19 page. And, you can always review an archive of COVID-19 communications from the Engineering School here, as well as FAQs provided by the University here.
As we navigate this uncharted territory together, please know we are here to support you. If you have career-related questions, or if we can help refer you to other support systems on Grounds, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 434-924-3050 and leave a voice message. A staff member will return your message within one business day.
We look forward to partnering with you to design, develop and implement your career plans, and we hope that you will take advantage of the many resources we have to offer.
All the best,
Director, Center for Engineering Career Development
In light of the anticipated high volume of appointments, we have made some temporary changes to scheduling for graduate students. All appointments will be conducted virtually, through Zoom or phone; no in-person appointments will be offered at this time.
Engineering graduate students can schedule a career advising appointment by emailing email@example.com and a staff member will be in touch to schedule your appointment.
Initial priority will be given to students who are actively seeking job opportunities.
If you’ve indicated through a recent survey that you’re seeking opportunities, a career advisor will reach out to you.
Free Virtual Resources
Through UVA, you also have free access to:
— Exploring career paths with PathwayU;
