UVA Engineering Professors Earn Junior Faculty Awards

Two UVA Engineering faculty members have earned the prestigious Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities.

Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering Geoffrey Geise and Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering Mete Civelek were nominated for the award by a faculty review group comprised of members from multiple UVA entities. The professors join 33 other junior faculty members at ORAU-affiliated institutions selected to receive the award from 132 nominees.

The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards are intended to help enhance the research of faculty in the early part of their academic careers.
