Meet Mukti Chowkwale from the Saucerman Lab

Mukti is a Ph.D. student in Jeff Saucerman’s lab. She is the GBMES International Student Chair, representing the interests of international students and helping to provide resources and community for these students.

Q: Where did you go to undergrad and what did you study?

I went to University of Pune in India for undergrad, and I majored in Computer Engineering.

Q: What is something that you like about your research?

I really like that I apply computational models to uncover underlying mechanisms of cells!

Q: What do you like to do when you aren't working on research?

I like to play soccer, go on long walks, play some music, and cook! Or not do any of that and just watch Netflix.

Q: What is a food you enjoy?

Any type of soup or stew. Ramen, pho, a South Indian lentil stew - so comforting and yummy!
