Joining the top 2% of medical and biological engineering professionals

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering has elected two University of Virginia School of Engineering faculty, William H. Guilford and Aidong Zhang, to its College of Fellows.

The honor is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to medical and biological engineers. Fellows represent the top 2% of medical and biological engineering professionals, according to AIMBE, a non-profit, honorific society that represents and advocates for medical and biological engineering.

Fellows are elected for outstanding contributions to engineering and medicine research, practice, or education and to the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of medical and biological engineering, or developingĀ  innovative approaches to bioengineering education.

Guilford earns outstanding educator award from the American Society for Engineering Education

Will Guilford, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the department of biomedical engineering and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education in the UVA School of Engineering.
