Congratulations, Tanyporn “Oom” Pattarabanjird for winning the National Emerging Scientist Award for Women at the 2021 Vascular Discovery Meeting. Oom is an MD/PhD student in biomedical engineering in Coleen McNamara’s Lab. Read more about Oom's accomplishment:
This award helps recruit and retain women in the field of arteriosclerosis, thrombosis and vascular biology by recognizing the excellent research conducted by the applicants. Some additional criteria to be considered for this award include: being a junior female investigator in training in one or more ATVB fields, either a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow; and, achieving a rating among the top 5 abstracts.
As a recipient of this award, Oom received an engraved plaque and $1,500, as well as be acknowledged at the Mentor of Women Award Luncheon, which is sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Committee.
