Dan F. Shedd, PhD

Dr. Shedd is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Applied Biomechanics (CAB). During his graduate work at the University of Utah, he worked at the Utah Head Trauma Lab, using computational and experimental biomechanics to investigate ocular injury resulting from blast exposure. Since joining CAB in January 2018, he has been focused on traumatic brain injury, with projects including the measurement of in situ brain deformation during dynamic head rotation, and development of experimental concussion models. Additional areas of interest for Dr. Shedd are high-rate head injury, medical device design, computational biomechanics, and injury scaling relationships.
