Dr. Harris serves as the Director of the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS). In this role, he provides strategic direction and oversight of CTS programs. Dr. Harris is also an Associate Professor of Civil/Structural Environmental in the Department of Engineering Systems and Environment at the University of Virginia and a member of the Link Lab. He also holds an appointment as the Faculty Director of the UVA Clark Scholars Program. His research and teaching interests include bridge behavior, image-based measurement techniques, crowd-sourcing, data analytics, condition assessment and structural health monitoring, reinforced and prestressed concrete behavior, and the application of innovative materials in civil infrastructure.
Dr. Ivey Burden serves as the Deputy Director of CTS. In this role, she works closely with the Director and plays an active role as liaison to the larger SEAS and University community. Dr. Ivey Burden is also an Assistant Professor of Civil/Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Engineering Systems and Environment.
Serves as Program Manager of the Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program (VA LTAP) handling all scheduling, purchasing, marketing, and customer service for the statewide training program. Oversees the Education Outreach Staff.
Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program (VA LTAP) with a focus on coordinating and processing thousands of registrations each year for the statewide training program. Facilitates in-person training events as needed.
Serves as Program Manager of our Online Training Programs handling all scheduling, marketing, and customer service for the statewide and national training programs. Serves as the Project Manager for the Road Safety Champion Program.
Provides fiscal support for the CTS suite of training programs. Facilitates and provides support for in-person training events as needed. Serves as the point of contact for VTRC student interns and work study assignments.
Assists with the day-to-day accounting operations for the Center, to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and travel expenditures for the CTS suite of training programs. Serves as the Program Manager for the LAP Qualification Program (QP).
