William & Mary professor and UVA computer science alumnus Gang Zhou has been elevated to IEEE fellow effective in January 2023. The distinction recognizes his “contributions to sensor networks and low-power wireless networks.”

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Board of Directors confers the grade of fellow upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year cannot exceed 1/10 of 1% of the total voting membership. IEEE fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.

Zhou received his Ph.D. in computer science in 2007, advised by Professor Jack Stankovic. Congratulations to Professor Zhou!
