As many as 33% of UVA students experience food insecurity at some point, meaning that they aren't able to afford enough nutritious food. If you are experiencing food insecurity, we can help! You can visit the Engineering Food Pantry in Thornton A121, directly across the hall from Career Development, to supplement your diet. This open space, maintained by Engineering Student Council, operates on the honor system and is meant to help students in need. The UVA Community Food Pantry is much larger, and is open in the Student Activities Center of Newcomb Hall, seven-days a week. If you find yourself experiencing this or other financial hardships, please talk with anyone in the Undergraduate Programs Office or the Center for Diversity in Engineering. They can help you find even more resources.
