Our research focuses on regenerative medicine, with a special emphasis on musculoskeletal tissue engineering and the treatment of volumetric muscle loss (VML) injuries. Additionally, we work on creating new biomaterials that enhance muscle regeneration and improve neural innervation, crucial for restoring full functionality to damaged muscle tissues.

We collaborate with clinicians and other interdisciplinary researchers to translate scientific discoveries into clinical applications. Some of our work includes gene therapy for smooth muscle disorders and advancing tissue engineering protocols for real-world therapeutic use.

"Translational research means everything from basic science to clinical applications... For me personally, that means every single day I'm doing something different, learning something new."
