IEEE General Student Branch

IEEE General Student Branch

The IEEE Student Branch at the University of Virginia (IEEE at UVA) connects emerging engineering students with professional development, technical resources, and industry engagement. Operating within the department of electrical and computer engineering, the chapter serves as a central hub for students interested in ECE or general engineering/technology. IEEE at UVA provides members with hands-on skill-building opportunities through technical workshops in areas such as PCB design, embedded systems, and machine learning, as well as project-based initiatives, hackathons, and hardware competitions. In addition to technical development, the organization supports members' career readiness by hosting company tech talks, networking nights, resume workshops, and career panels with industry professionals. Through these activities, IEEE at UVA aims to foster a collaborative community that empowers engineering students to build practical skills, explore career pathways, and succeed academically and professionally.
