APD initiates and organizes activities that will enhance academic development while working to help prepare students for their professional lives throughout their college experience. Our Academic and Professional Development team is divided into two groups: one focused on the undergraduate experience and the other on the graduate experience. The Health and Wellness committee is responsible for creating an environment where students prioritize physical and mental health. The events organized integrate mindfulness, physical wellbeing, and a sense of community among peers.

Technology, Marketing, and Merchandise manages ESC’s digital presence, online sales, and branded merchandise while supporting other committees with technical needs. The position focuses on maintaining smooth operations of the website, communicating updates from engineering clubs, and promoting school spirit through creative merchandise initiatives.

Our committee serves to create lasting relationships within the UVA E-school and the greater Charlottesville community via volunteer efforts, education outreach programs, donation drives, and other service initiatives.

We focus on managing E-Guides. E-Guides leads tours for UVA Engineering, helping prospective students and their families discover what makes both Engineering and UVA special. They share personal experiences, answer questions, and contribute to outreach events that highlight the School of Engineering’s community and opportunities

The transfer committee advocates for transfer students in the engineering school by organizing and hosting events centered around introducing transfer students to resources and tools to assign in their academic journeys, creating a community of shared experience, and actively working towards making the transition to life as a UVA engineering student smooth, enjoyable, and well supported.

The First Year Committee of the Engineering Student Council consists of 30+ students dedicated to providing all E-School first years with a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment in which to learn and succeed. We are looking forward to making our first year the best it can be for all of the first year engineering students that we represent.
