Become A Problem-Solver (BAPS)

Become A Problem-Solver (BAPS) applies systems thinking to advance the operations of service organizations across Grounds and broader Charlottesville. Using technical systems tools such as in Excel or Power BI, we have served 15 clients to date ranging from refining volunteer background checking systems with Madison House to bolstering hazing prevention efforts with the Gordie Center. Although we started out hosting primarily systems engineering students, we now accept students of ALL majors and welcome new perspectives to our project teams. With no application process to become a member and low-commitment participation on project teams, previous members have easily translated BAPS projects to their resumes and interviews, earning them top consulting or technical roles, among others.
