Funbotics at UVA

Funbotics at UVA

Funbotics is a student-led organization committed to making robotics and STEM education accessible for all students. Our mission is to break down barriers in robotics and engineering by providing hands-on learning opportunities for young learners. We envision a future where every student, regardless of background or resources, has the chance to explore science and technology and to see themselves as innovators. To achieve this, we design and host robotics and 3D printing camps for middle school students. By combining mentorship and accessible technology, Funbotics works to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team! As a volunteer, you'll help organize and run teaching sessions, recruit fellow UVA students, and collaborate with Funbotics. Being part of Funbotics means combining leadership, engineering, education, community service, and entrepreneurship, all in one experience.

We’re looking for students who are:

Dedicated and passionate about STEM education
Strong communicators and team players
Able to attend training, planning meetings, and volunteer sessions (camps)
Being a STEM major is not required!! No experience necessary!!

Volunteers will attend training sessions to learn the curriculum and effective mentoring strategies. During the camps, each volunteer will be paired with a small group of 4–5 students to guide them through the projects.
