Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) at UVA empowers students by fostering professional development, academic support, and a strong sense of community. Our mission is to change lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. While our roots are in serving the Hispanic/Latino community, SHPE at UVA is an inclusive organization open to all students who share our values and commitment to diversity in STEM. We host workshops, networking events, and outreach initiatives such as Juntos Podemos, where we inspire high school students to pursue higher education and careers in engineering. SHPE at UVA serves as a familia for students while providing opportunities to grow as leaders, scholars, and professionals.
