UVA Engineering is one of three Rolls-Royce University Technology Centers in the country engaged in world-class, collaborative research and technology programs in technologies that are critical to advancements in aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
UVA joined the Rolls-Royce University Technology Center network in 2014, elevating UVA Engineering's research and education programs so that researchers can create new knowledge in sectors that are critical to our society and economy, and students can become the next generation of leaders to advance breakthroughs in these fields.

Outstanding Ph.D. students pursuing research and scholarship on topics relevant to Rolls-Royce, UVA and other partners are invited to apply. The fellowship provides an annual stipend of $30,000, full tuition and fees, health insurance, and an annual travel budget of $2,500, for up to three years. The Center's research includes faculty and facilities from three engineering departments.
