Program Application

With an overwhelming interest in the 2024 summer programming, we are currently at capacity. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please fill out our registration form. If you are a rising freshman, sophomore or junior, we hope you will consider applying again in 2025.

Who

Engineering-Girls@UVA is the ideal summer program for rising 9th through 12th graders that identify as female or nonbinary.

When

The 2024 summer program will be held August 5-9 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

Where

The program will take place on the UVA School of Engineering and Applied Science campus. 

Participant Instructions

Enrolled participants should be on the lookout for an email from the executive team for programmatic next steps and associated forms that are required prior to the start of the program. If you have not received an email by July 8, please check your spam folder and contact us at uvacoulter@virginia.edu.

Participant FAQ

This program does not provide overnight lodging. 

Transportation is not provided. It is the responsibility of the participant or participant's guardian to provide transportation to and from the designated pickup and drop off locations. 

Detailed locations and times will be provided to participants through email prior to the start of the program.

Lunch will be provided each day of the program. 

Please bring a water bottle, wear comfortable shoes, and bring snacks and whatever other supplies you will need throughout the day. All program supplies and materials will be provided.

David Chen is the founding Managing Director of the Wallace H. Coulter Center for Translational Research at the University of Virginia and Professor of Practice in Biomedical Engineering.

Hannah Moore manages the overall administration operations of the Coulter Center, along with the Center's finances. She works closely with faculty members during the proposal process to ensure the compliance needed to receive funding and launch their projects.
