Brian Overby
Brian Overby has been working at University of Virginia’s Center for Applied Biomechanics for over 10 years as research engineer. Prior to his career at Center for Applied Biomechanics, Mr. Overby received a Bachelor in Science in Physics from James Madison University and a Master of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia. Mr. Overby’s responsibilities at the Center for Applied Biomechanics, include sled and test device design, maintenance, installation and operation. Mr. Overby currently has 15 years of experience with Solidworks and other CAD programs. As well, Brian has experience with CNC machining, CNC programming, welding, and fabrication. While at the Center for Applied Biomechanics, Mr. Overby’s work has included vehicular prep, vehicular rollover testing, rollover buck and roof design, rollover ROV buck design, rollover test fixture design, thoracic and abdominal belt loading test rig design, bone coupon test rig design, seatbelt force attenuating device design, sled operation and sled maintenance.
