Katarzyna Rawska

Ms. Katarzyna Rawska is presently a Research Specialist-Computation at the University of Virginia’s Center of Applied Biomechanics. She graduated from Wroclaw University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as a Master in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Ms. Rawska worked for three years as an R&D Engineer and Software Tester (associated with TASS International and their representative for Eastern Europe), which specializes in the academic and commercial use of MADYMO (numerical modeling of the mechanical tests, especially in dummy, multi-body modelling and kinematic evaluation). Her primary research topics focus on vehicle simulation and occupant response. She has an active role in developing and simulating multi-body models of the human body. Her responsibilities include the evaluation of occupant and pedestrian kinematics and interaction with the vehicle, the assessment of associated injury risk and a design, the analysis of the dynamic structural response of the vehicle, and evaluation of injury counter-measures.
