Joon Seok Kong, PhD

Joon Seok Kong received his PhD from the Yonsei University in Medical Science in 2023. During his PhD program, most of his work pertained to the field data analysis related to predict injury severities and mechanisms on motor vehicle crash occupants using the artificial intelligence to enhance predictive performance. After he received his PhD, he conducted research as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Automotive Medical Science Institute (CAMS) in Yonsei University supervised by Dr. Kang Hyun Lee and assigned to work collaborating with the Emergency Department at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital. In August 2023, Dr. Kong joined the research team at the Center for Applied Biomechanics, where his work focuses on field data analysis, biostatistics, crash biomechanics, injury assessment, injury prediction and machine learning analytics based on data scientific approaches.
