David Chen is the founding Managing Director of the Wallace H. Coulter Center for Translational Research at the University of Virginia and Professor of Practice in Biomedical Engineering.

Hannah Moore

Associate Director, Coulter Center for Translational Research

Hannah Moore manages the administrative operations and finances of the Coulter Center. She collaborates closely with BME faculty to ensure compliance for research funding and project launch. In addition, she mentors trainees on career development in the biomedical industry.

Shayn Peirce-Cottler, Ph.D.

Professor and Chair, Biomedical Engineering Harrison Distinguished Teaching Professor

Shayn Peirce-Cottler develops computational models and combines them with wet lab experiments and machine learning to study how tissues heal after injury and to develop new therapies for inducing tissue regeneration.

Kristin Bush

Kristin Bush is a biomedical design engineer that specializes in medical device innovation and development. She supports faculty and trainee teams in advancing biomedical technologies from concept to commercialization, and co-teaches BME design courses.
