As a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University, Dr. Emily McCain researched the consequences of neuromuscular and orthopedic impairments on walking performance. Now as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dr. Silvia Blemker's M3 laboratory at UVA, McCain is working toward the development of sex-specific musculoskeletal models to investigate how sex differences affect muscle function during movement.
