Nicole Dufalla is a Lecturer in the First Year Engineering Center with a joint appointment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Her educational background is in civil engineering, with a focus in pavement structure and materials and she received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and her M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She currently serves as the chair of the Transportation Research Board Standing Committee on the Properties of Concrete.

Prior to joining the School of Engineering, she served as a Lecturer in Construction Management at Colorado State University and she has worked previously as a professional engineer for field and laboratory-based pavements research and consulting, including federal and state level projects. Her extensive background in consulting, technical writing, and research has informed her teaching for first year engineers.
