Yan Long
About
Yan Long will join the Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia in July 2025. His research is mainly in the area of embedded systems security with a focus on protecting the security and privacy of analog and digital sensing in various forms of cyber-physical systems using hardware-software co-design. He also develops novel sensing systems to facilitate healthcare and security applications. His previous publications appeared at top international venues such as IEEE Security and Privacy, ACM CCS, NDSS, UbiComp, and SenSys. His works received the IEEE Security and Privacy Distinguished Paper award, CPS Rising Stars recognition, IEEE HOST Best PhD Thesis award, and CSAW Applied Research Competition Finalist. He has been a TPC member of USENIX Security, ACM CCS, ACM MobiSys, etc., and is the guest editor of the Sensors in Hardware Security special issue for the Sensors Journal.
