Forms FAQ for Engineering Graduate Students

Students do not need a DocuSign account to use UVA Engineering Graduate forms.

It depends. The initial form that you click through to from the website must be completed all at once. Once you fill that out, you’ll receive a DocuSign email that invites you to sign or complete any additional required answers on the form. If you select Other Actions you can choose to Save and Finish Later.

Questions about how to complete a UVA Engineering Graduate Form should be directed to your department’s Graduate Coordinator.

Questions about where a UVA Engineering Graduate Form is in the signing process should be directed to your department’s Graduate Coordinator.

When your form is completed, you will be automatically emailed from DocuSign with a copy of your form.

Changes cannot be made to a form once submitted. You will need to initiate a new form. Please also contact your department’s Graduate Coordinator to void the incorrect form.

If your form is declined, you will be automatically emailed by DocuSign.

Forms FAQ for Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff do not need a DocuSign account to sign a UVA Engineering Graduate Form.

Questions about UVA Engineering Graduate Forms should be directed to your department’s Graduate Coordinator.

Look for the Other Actions tab and select Decline to Sign. You may be asked to provide a message indicating why you have declined to sign. Please provide as much information as possible to enable the student to understand why you declined, and what additional actions they may need to take.

In cases where there are other signers, those who have already completed signing receive an email stating that you have declined to sign. Other signers who have not yet completed signing will not be able to access the form.

If you decline to sign a form via DocuSign, the student and any others who have already completed signing will be notified.

When your form is completed, you will be automatically emailed from DocuSign with a copy of your form.

A signatory cannot make changes to a form after they have signed. You will need to initiate a new form. Please also contact your department’s Graduate Coordinator to void the incorrect form.

For Graduate Engineering forms, the name of the student is included in the subject line of the email from DocuSign and on the form itself.

DocuSign sends email notifications to signatories who have not yet completed necessary actions on a form. Your options to stop receiving email reminders to sign are: complete signing or decline to sign.
