Dr. Cocke has successfully defended her PhD research titled "Insights into the Effect of Corrosion Damage on Fatigue and Fatigue Life Prediction Analyses of 7xxx and 2xxx Series Aluminum Alloys". Carly works full time now here in Charlottesville at Luna Labs and we all wish her the best moving forward in her career! Congrats Dr. Cocke!

Congratulations Dr. Burns on receiving the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers! The PECASE Award is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on outstanding scientists and engineers beginning their independent careers.

Congrats Mohammed on a successful dissertation proposal! 

Congratulations Sarah for being selected as a 2024 – 2025 Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Graduate Fellow!

Gabby defended her thesis titled "Understanding the Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking of an  Al-Mg Alloy". She liked it here so much that she's decided to stick around a little longer and continue to perform excellent science as a Postmasters Researcher. 

Guru joined us as our new postdoc in November of 2022. Patrick and Cody joined our group in the summer of 2023. We are excited to have you guys here!

Trevor, Luke, and Adam have all successfully defended their dissertations and have left the Burns group for their new jobs. Zach has also recently started a new position as assistant professor at the University of Pittsburg. Congrats to each of them. We will be cheering you on in your future endeavours!
