NAME: Sabbir Ahmed (He/Him)

POSITION: Graduate Research Assistant

ABOUT: Sabbir has joined the University of Iowa as a graduate student in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from Spring ’24. He is currently working as a graduate research assistant in the Advanced Pulmonary Physiomic Imaging (Fain) lab at UIowa. He is conducting research to develop Improved Kspace Trajectory Design, Off-resonance Corrections, and Motion Compensated Free Breathing Ultrashort Echo Time (UTE) Pulmonary MR Image Reconstruction under the supervision of Prof. Sean Fain (UIowa) and Prof. Mathews Jacob (UVA). The goal is to achieve better contrast to noise ratio and to improve spatial resolution in the lung parenchyma.

Apart from MR image reconstruction, he is also interested in Inverse Problems, Image Segmentation, Image Enhancement and Algorithm Design and Optimizations. However, I am open to explore any research area that might improve human lives and bring technology more accessible to end users.

RESEARCH AREAS: Motion Compensation in Free Breathing Pulmonary MRI Medical Imaging and Machine Learning Algorithm Development and Optimizations Inverse Problems and MR Image Reconstruction
