About

Led by Devin Harris, I-S²EE (Infrastructure Simulation, Sensing and Evaluation Lab) is developing advanced techniques to characterize and better evaluate the condition of the built environment.

About the Team

Our research group  is the Infrastructure Simulation, Sensing and Evaluation Lab, I-S²EE Lab for short. The research in our lab group has truly become interdisciplinary in nature, but has maintained a focus on characterizing the performance and condition state of the built environment using a variety of techniques. Much of our research has focused on transportation infrastructure, but we are also interested in a variety of related domains including smart and connected communities, cyber-physical systems, crowd-sourcing, and smart/high-performance materials. Our physical laboratory is housed within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, but the tools available are well suited for field evaluation of the built environment. The laboratory is equipped with a variety of testing equipment suited for rapid load testing and monitoring as well as equipment dedicated to non-destructive evaluation of civil infrastructure.
