When you make a donation to the Computer Science Department, you can direct your donation to a specific activity that the department supports. Your donation can make a difference by helping the department better meet the needs of its students. Last year employers matched about 25% of individual donation made to UVA CS. Ask your employer about their donation matching opportunities. This year Computer Science is offering a 100% match to all Thornton Society gifts of $2,500 or more ($1,000 for alumni within ten years of graduation) to the department. All funds will be used to support programs that innovate and improve the educational experience of CS undergraduate students, such as additional TA and RA positions, classroom equipment like Raspberry Pi's and VR headsets, and travel and competition opportunities like the Grace Hopper Conference or the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.
