Jeffrey Saucerman
Jeffrey Saucerman, PhD, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, combines computational models and high-throughput experiments to discover molecular networks that control cardiac remodeling and regeneration.

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering has elected University of Virginia faculty member Jeffrey Saucerman to its College of Fellows.

The honor is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to medical and biological engineers. Fellows represent the top 2% of medical and biological engineering professionals, according to AIMBE, a non-profit, honorific society that represents and advocates for medical and biological engineering.

Fellows are elected for outstanding contributions to engineering and medicine research, practice, or education and to the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of medical and biological engineering, or developing  innovative approaches to bioengineering education. Dr. Saucerman was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows “for pioneering contributions to cardiac systems biology; developing quantitative approaches to elucidate the signaling networks of heart remodeling.”
