Connect with us to discuss major or career choices, resume and cover letter writing techniques, or internship and job search strategies. We also offer behavioral mock interviews and review the results of career assessments by appointment. Please see below for various ways to connect with our career advisors.  

Undergraduate Engineering and CS (BS and BA) Students

  1. Log into Handshake and go to the Career Center menu.
  2. Select Appointments and then "Schedule a new appointment"
  3. Select "Center for Engineering Career Development" as your appointment category
  4. Select the topic you’d like to discuss
  5. You can select an in-person or virtual appointment
  6. If you have an urgent need and there are no available appointments, please email us at engineeringcareers@virginia.edu

Graduate Engineering Students

  1. Log into Handshake and go to Career Center menu
  2. Select "Center for Engineering Career Development" as your appointment category
  3. Select the "SEAS: Masters Students" or "SEAS: PhD Students" appointment type
  4. Select an in-person or virtual appointment

Drop-In Hours at Thornton A115

(During regular school sessions and subject to advisor availability.)

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1-3pm. Check in on the device outside of Thornton A115 and the first available advisor will call your name.

UVA Career Center Appointments and Drop-In Hours

In addition to meeting with career advisors within the E-School, Engineering, and CS students are also welcome to schedule an appointment with our colleagues at the UVA Career Center through Handshake (select UVA Career Center - General Appointments at Bryant Hall under Appointments). 

If you’re outside the US and your waking hours don’t align with our 9am-5pm appointment availability, email engineeringcareers@virginia.edu to request an appointment time.
