Alex Hall is the School of Engineering's embedded Assistant Dean of Students from the Office of the Dean of Students. Alex specializes in providing crisis triage and response, Engineering and University resource referrals, information about Univerity conduct policies and generalist support for students in distress. Alex also works closely with support services and resources in other offices or areas of Engineering and the University to connect students with the most helpful and relevant support available for their specific needs or concerns. She has been working in Student Affairs at the University of Virginia for nine years, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education at the University.
How to Make An Appointment
Students who wish to make an appointment to speak with Alex can call her administrative assistant at 434-924-7427, or by using this direct scheduling link. Students may also contact Alex directly at AEC5D@VIRGINIA.EDU. Meetings with Alex can take place in person (in her office, Thornton A112), by phone, or by Zoom, and are generally scheduled for thirty minutes to one hour. Alex will work with each student to determine what additional meetings or referrals will be appropriate and helpful.
