Bridge to Bio
Program Overview
Bridge to Bio is a unique, fully funded, in-person immersion program designed to introduce community college students to exciting careers in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This three-day residential program, held at UVA Engineering, is developed in partnership with UVA's Department of Chemical Engineering and top biopharmaceutical companies.
Participants will gain hands-on experience, connect with industry and academic experts, and explore how life-saving medicines are made.

Program Details
- Participants will receive free lodging and meals
- Travel to and from Charlottesville will be reimbursed
- Students planning to transfer to UVA will receive individual guidance and support
Brief Program Agenda
- Day 1: Welcome to UVA and learn about the impact of biopharmaceutical manufacturing on society and the basics of biomanufacturing production
- Day 2: Tour a major biopharmaceutical manufacturer and learn about career opportunities
- Day 3: Meet with experts in the field and learn about the transfer process into UVA
