Zach Harris gave a talk titled, "Characterization of the effects of high altitude environments on dislocation structure evolution during fatigue loading of 7075-T651."
Andrew Jamieson presented a poster titled, "Quantifying the effects of type II hot corrosion on the high temperature fatigue cracking behavior of a Ni-based superalloy." -

Zach Harris presented a talk titled, "The Effect of Loading Rate on Hydrogen Environment-Assisted Cracking Susceptibility in Monel K-500" at the 2018 Department of Defense Technical Corrosion Conference Meeting in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Zach Harris' paper entitled "Elucidating the contribution of mobile hydrogen-deformation interactions on hydrogen-induced intergranular cracking in polycrystalline nickel" is accepted for publication in Acta Materialia.
Patrick Steiner's paper entitled "Mechanistic Studies of Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking in Al-Mg Alloys under Atmospheric Exposure Conditions" is accepted for publication in CORROSION. -
Burns Group at 12th ICF
The Burns Group headed to Poitiers, France to participate in the 12th International Fatigue Congress.
Adam Thompson presented a talk titled, "Characterization of the effects of high altitude environments on dislocation structure evolution during fatigue loading of AA7075-T651".
Prof. Burns gave a plenary lecture titled, "Next generation insights into environmental cracking via coupling high-fidelity experimentation, material characterization, and multi-scale modeling approaches". -

Noelle Easter Co, Andrew Jamieson, and Michael Ritzo are graduating!
Dr. Noelle Easter Co has accepted an offer to work with Blade Energy Group as a Metallurgical Engineer II.
Andrew Jamieson has accepted a position at NAVAIR as a Materials Engineer in the Metals and Ceramics Group at NAS Patuxent River.
Michael Ritzo is continuing his education with Professor Agnew.

Burns Group at 2018 SteelyHydrogen Conference
Zach Harris received the Best Presentation Award at the 2018 SteelyHydrogen Conference in Ghent, Belgium for his talk titled, "The Effect of Heat Treatment Variation on Hydrogen Environment-Assisted Cracking Susceptibility in a Precipitation-Hardened Ni-Based Superalloy".
Matt McMahon presented a talk titled, "Mitigation of H-induced intergranular cracking in Al-Mg alloys by electrochemical potential control" and got second place for his presentation.

Surprising no one, Matt McMahon has successfully defended his proposal titled "Evaluation of Metal-Rich Primers for the Mitigation of Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking in Highly Sensitized Al-Mg Alloy AA5456-H116". Great work Matt!
