The Segmented Outboard Articulating Rotor (SOAR) is a continuation of the SUMR PROJECT with additional compontents that improve upon the older design. This project includes outboard articulating trailing edge flaps in order to optimize blade efficiency during operation. Additionally, this project includes segmented blades in order to reduce the cost of turbine operation and maintenance.
