Engineering IT is working hard on your behalf to improve conference rooms.
The following AV system upgrade has been completed.
- Wilsdorf 200 to a Zoom Rooms system
Just a quick note to let everyone know that the AV upgrade in the Wilsdorf 200 meeting room is complete! We installed a ZOOM ROOMS system over spring break and ran into a minor configuration issue, but that has been resolved, and the ZOOM ROOM is running as designed.
An important Zoom Rooms system note: Screen sharing (in AND out of a Zoom meeting) in a Zoom Rooms location requires that you provide your own laptop – also known as BYOD, Bring Your Own Device. There are no longer stand-alone computers in our Zoom Rooms locations. Not to be too techie, but “Zoom Rooms” is actually a brand name (just like Kleenex is a brand name of tissue.) In addition to our Zoom Rooms, we still have other Zoom-capable meeting rooms.
A couple of reasons for the push for Zoom Rooms systems…First, Zoom Rooms makes video, audio and web conferencing easier for the user, with wireless screen sharing as an added feature. Secondly, the goal is to provide a consistent user experience in our UVA Engineering AV-equipped meeting rooms. We get closer every time we install a new system!
Here is a Zoom Rooms User Guide for your convenience.
