2 Step Authentication - DUO

2-Step Login (Duo) provides an additional level of security to your UVA account through two-factor authentication. All UVA students, faculty, staff, and sponsored account holders are required to enroll in Duo to access NetBadge-protected resources (e.g., UVA Box, SIS, Workday, etc.).

LastPass - Password storage
LastPass a password management tool for both personal and UVA account passwords. It will remember your passwords, autofill login information, and generate new passwords for you. LastPass can be used on computers and mobile devices.

AntiVirus Requirements
All devices used to access the UVA network should be protected by antivirus software to prevent infection by malicious code or programs, including viruses, spyware, worms, and other malware. This includes:
- Personal Devices
- University Owned Devices
- University Servers

Electronic Records Policies
- Carefully consider where to store University records.
- Highly Sensitive Data should not be stored in OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Or Box.
- University documents and collaborative documents that need to be retained after the owner leaves UVA should not be stored in OneDrive or Box, as the data may be lost after the person leaves UVA.

OneDrive - M365 Cloud Storage -5 TB
OneDrive is an online cloud storage service that integrates with Microsoft 365 so users can access Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and other documents in one place. Users can share files and simultaneously edit collaborative documents online. UVA users receive 5 terabytes (TBs) of storage (no increases allowed).

Remote Apps
The intended use is to run licensed software like Minitab, MATLAB, Rstudio, etc., remotely on student-owned computers. Faculty Requested Course needed software may also be found on Remote Apps
Departmental labs using remote apps must have a signed MOU and is responsible for all issues with remote apps usage in the lab
