Engineering IT License Procurement and Management

The following departments' Adobe licensing needs are managed by Engineering IT: APMA, CEE, CHE, ECE, ENS, MAE, SDO, SIE
The Adobe Creative Cloud plan includes over 20 creative apps that can be licensed individually or as a complete Creative Cloud package.
Engineering IT manages Adobe licensing for the following departments: APMA, CEE, CHE, ECE, ENS, MAE, SDO, SIE- All licenses are renewed or billed based on the anniversary date of July 15th.
New License Request:
- Request a new license for an Adobe application or applications via email to Engr-IT@virginia.edu. Include the following:
- Subscriber – who will be using the application(s)
- Billing information - Include the worktag to be charged
- If ordering 3 or more applications per subscriber, it is more cost effective to order Creative Cloud Suite ($251.88 annually per license).(Acrobat Pro $122.28 annually per license)
- Stock images are not included with Creative Cloud unless purchased
- The license is usually available within 48hrs it will then be assigned to the subscriber noted in the request.
- The subscriber will receive an email from Adobe with a link for portal sign in
- Subscriber should ensure that the portal reflects “ENGINEERING IT”, and not “Personal Profile” or previous departmental portal.
- Preferred method of installation using EndPoint Management - Adobe Installation
Renewal process:
- Licenses will be renewed at the full annual rate on July 15th - all other order dates will be prorated to align with July 15th renewal.
- 60 days prior to expiration – May 16th, current subscriber will be notified of renewal to verify the renewal of current licensing and worktag
- 30 days, June 15, a second reminder will be sent
- July 1 the order will be placed to renew licenses that have been verified.
Available Licenses – Prices are subject to change annually:
License Transfer
- If a License needs to be transfered from one team member to another, send an email to Engr-IT@virginia.edu with the following information:
- Computer ID of current license holder
- Computer ID of transfered license holder
- Once this change is completed the Transfered holder will receive an email and access will be removed from the previous holder
- Note: Any existing content stored in the Adobe Cloud will need to be backed up prior to license transfer - to request assistance email: Engr-IT@virginia.edu

PDF Annotator is licensed by Engineering IT for use in supporting classrooms. If you have a specific need for PDF Annotator outside of support classrooms contact Engineering IT OPS via TCEng@virginia.edu
AutoDesk is licensed and managed by Engineering IT for use in classrooms, UVA Remote Apps, and research related labs as needed. The most common products include: AutoCAD - Revit - Civil 3D
