Thank you to everyone who attended the Microsoft Copilot Workshop on July 30. The event was very well received, with more than 70 attendees participating across the administrative and research-focused sessions.
A special thank you to Anna and Atanas from Microsoft, who did an outstanding job demonstrating how Microsoft 365 Copilot can help users work more efficiently while encouraging discussion and answering a wide range of questions. As Anna noted during the sessions, there is a learning curve when adopting any new tool. Initially, users may spend more time learning how to interact effectively with Copilot, but that investment quickly pays off as efficiency and productivity increase.
GitHub Copilot
The strong interest in the workshop has opened the door for additional Microsoft AI sessions. One topic under consideration is GitHub Copilot, GitHub's AI-powered coding assistant. If you use GitHub and would be interested in learning how GitHub Copilot can assist with coding, scripting, and development tasks, let Engineering IT know and we'll gauge interest in scheduling a future workshop.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork
Another emerging capability is Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork, which takes AI a step further by helping execute multi-step tasks across Microsoft applications. Examples can include drafting and sending emails, creating meeting requests, coordinating work across Microsoft 365 applications, and other workflow-oriented activities while keeping the user in control.
Thank you again to everyone who participated. We look forward to bringing more opportunities to explore Microsoft's rapidly growing AI ecosystem.
