Congratulations, Miles Lanham!

We’re proud to announce that the University of Virginia student innovator team, Métopi, led by undergraduates Ben Joseph (BIOL) and Miles Lanham (BME), was recently accepted to VentureWell’s E-Team Program supported by faculty mentor Blair Okita. Métopi is creating the first wearable, multi-pack prescribable rescue inhaler, which provides instant access to rescue medication, helping those who could experience potentially life-threatening flare-ups if their traditional rescue inhaler is not within reach.

Métopi has received $5,000 in non-dilutive funding and will participate in the in-person entrepreneurship training workshop hosted at Case Western Reserve University (OH) in just a few weeks.part of VentureWell’s nationally recognized Early-Stage Innovator Training Program, which provides student teams with the training, coaching, and peer networking opportunities that will help them launch their innovation. During Pioneer, the team will discover the best market for their invention, as well as outline possible pathways for the future.

The VentureWell E-Team Program offers up to $25,000 in grant funding and entrepreneurship training to student teams across the U.S. that are developing science and technology innovations focused on solving the world’s biggest challenges. Through the E-Team Program, VentureWell has trained over 590 student teams and more than 1,700 student innovators. The teams have raised over $580 million in follow-on funding and have launched 250+ ventures since taking part in our program.

Congratulations, Ben and Miles!
