Cong Shen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UVa. He obtained his PhD degree from UCLA. His research interests are in wireless communications, networking, in-context learning, reinforcement learning, and federated learning.
Before joining UVA as an Associate Professor in 2016, Haiying Shen received her B.S. degree from Tongji University, China in 2000, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Wayne State University in 2004 and 2006. In addition to teaching, she is an Associate Editor for the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking (TON) and the IEEE Networking Letters (NL).

James A. Smith is an environmental engineer holding the Henry L. Kinnier Chair of Civil Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UVA. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1983 and 1984, and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Princeton University in 1992.
