Undergraduate students may engage in research via a variety of mechanisms: as researchers paid on sponsored awards or by other funding; as volunteer researchers; or, in their student role, executing research for credit. Faculty principal investigators are responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant sponsored award terms and University policies, including those related to research compliance, safety, hiring, volunteers and intellectual property.
